Dear extremely extended family, I would like to take a moment to share a side-story happening in the Reeve family today. Our son, Jordan, is in the Marine Corp and is finishing his Infantry training at Camp Pendleton, CA. This is a 9-week course of extreme field activities as they teach these new marines how to fight and use the different guns they have. Every week Jordan reports in at 6:30pm Sunday evening and he has to shut his phone off; then on Friday evening (somewhere between 6:30 and 10:30pm) he gets liberty and can turn his phone back on. We can then call him as much as we want all weekend until he has to report again on Sunday.

Well, today was Jordan's graduation from his Infantry training - and he made it! We are so proud of him as it has not been easy. Unfortunately we were not able to be there to support him today, but he understands completely. He knew Tuesday was the big day this week and he was able to get approval to call home that evening to check on his Mom. Unfortunately when he called Tuesday evening Julie was in ICU and we couldn't use our phone so we missed his calls. He did get a hold of Erica that night and big-sister was able to give him an overview of the days events. Thus, he knows the operations were successful, but he hasn't had time to talk to him Mom yet. I am sure it is driving him crazy and he is anxious for that first call. I am hoping it can be tonight since he did graduate today. Cross your fingers.

Tonight Jordan goes into a holding platoon at Camp Pendleton until his final training session as a Light Armored Vehicles crew-man starts on March 2nd. This final training class goes for just over four weeks which means Jordan will be home the first week of April. That will give him two months to be with his family (and work at Camp Williams where he will be assigned) and prepare for his mission. He reports to the Provo MTC on June 9th as he prepare to serve in Mongolia. We are proud of Jordan, and we love him so much. I know the Lord has helped him to deal with his Mom's surgery from a distance, and He has helped Jordan to stay focused on what is being asked of him in his trainings. Our family is being blessed on all sides because of all your prayers in our behalf. Thank you so much - we love you all!
